I am hoping to get the forum spruced up within a month.
By spruced up, new forum groups, reorganization of current forum groups, etc.
In the meantime, please sign up as a member, and enjoy what we have.
If you have any Forum Group requests, you can reply here, with the suggested name and description of its purpose. We will see what we can do. Cannot guarantee it will be exact, we will do the best we can to make it viola forum applicable.
Please feel free to pass info about this forum to violists and cellists and bowed string instrument enthusiasts you know.
The more members we have, the more information we can share and learn from.

I really hope this becomes an active place. This was my first taste of a forum for both new and established string players. It helped me, a lot.

Appreciate the hard work. When I got on my desktop i'll give it a good look over. One of my favorite sections besides the forum was the sheet music page. Always tough to find good solo arrangements for viola.

Oh, in regards to video instructions, one of my biggest goals is to learn to play along with songs I really don't know. Understanding chords, when they change in a song, double stops...

I might make a section for members to post their ways of doing videos, Ripton. Also, to allow members to ask for help.
I can make the forum groups, etc, I just can't move them to where I want them with the pad. I can with my computer. My PT is taking up a lot of time. I don't want to start it and not be able to just finish it. This might be my last week of PT, fingers crossed!
I think I will do up a skeleton on paper.

@wtw - I agree, we really need more participants before a chat would be beneficial.
@Mouse - I think we need a "Welcome" at the top of page like the other forum, "Welcome to our forum. A Message To Our New and Prospective Members . Check out our Forum Rules. Lets keep this forum an enjoyable place to visit." with appropriate links.

@JohnG I actually have a draft! LOL I guess we do need it. That was actually my idea for the other forum, LOL I have to edit it a bit. It will be at the top. I need to place the rules in a better spot after I get on the computer. Then I can use appropriate links in the message.

I guess it all depends on the number of users on at any given time. I seldom use the chat feature over at FM so at this point it does not add value for me. But that's only my 2cents. It could be very popular with others.

Thanks. I think I will mention it because it might be easier to do it now, than add it later. I am making a list. If you think of anything, let me know.
I know if you click on "Smileys" you do not get images, you get small text saying what they are. I tried using a "Thumbs up" from. y apple pad and it showed up as a question mar, also. So the emocons(?) from the pads don't translate to the text box.
I am going to start a topic with a list.

I have not forgotten to make the changes. I am catching up on the things I couldn't do before I could use the knee as much as I can now.
I will draw up my plan on paper during the next 2 weeks to freshen up the site. I will see if my plan is okay with Violaman, after that. He may see a problem that I do not foresee.
