I have not been able to do any serious cello playing for a little while. I miss it sooo much. I have my Fiddlerman cello and I have strings on it that are simply perfect for this cello. It makes it so much more fun to play. I was getting the hang of the different positions on my A string and my upper bowing arm was not letting me play for long.
I really want to play her. When I walk by I always pluck a string or two. Maybe I should hide it so it wouldn't bother me so much, but then I might forget it completely.
Maybe, if I start playing it just a little each day, the time I can play it will become longer? Worth a shot. Tomorrow, I play my cello!

Yes, worth a shot. It's a pity to have your cello just sitting there and tempting you...
Never play to the point of lasting pain, though. Take breaks whenever needed. Have fun today!
That is a super great tip. Never play to the point of pain.
If you do feel pain, shake it off, focus on relaxing and only use the necessary muscles. Many of us use added tension and muscles while doing any task without realizing it. You actually need to practice removing those added/unnecessary tensions to relax sufficiently.
That being said, it doesn't solve all pain/tension issues. But for many, this is the solution.

@Violaman
So, maybe I am trying too hard with my cello. I can bow my violin and viola. But with my cello, not even an entire song. Maybe, I should give it another go, and not try an entire song, just play a part of a song. Not a song I am always trying to improve, but one that is just easy to play without trying to change it up.
If I play a simple song from Suzuki that I have memorized, I don't usually try to make them better, I just play them. But, if I try to play What A Wonderful World, or some of the songs that I loved that Chris had me doing with lessons, I always try so hard with them, I really like what he chose for lessons. So, they will stay out of the lineup for a while.
Maybe I should set the timer to make me stop before I get sore. I play songs on my CD player when I do my elliptical. This keeps me aware of how long I have been on so I don't damage the knee replacement I am trying to keep active, and strengthen. Playing a CD while playing my cello would be interesting, but I should probably just set my timer. ?
