 As I move away from that Other system this is my 1st video posting using Ubuntu and Linux programs. The   Video program that uses my HP webcam   is called Cheese but even this provided no audio until I installed Skype and used its diagnostics to sort out my audio settings. I think I can make the microphone less sensitive  because it picks up sound from the other room.                                                                                                                     
Still working on the smoothness of the song

Hi Ray

I'm sure the sync problem will be solvable. I tried Redhat Linux for a while and then weakened and went back to MS

Why have you made the change?
