Well, I have to get going. I have to finish a birthday card. Then I have to play my cello. I am awaiting my new viola chinrest. Then I can start back in with my viola.
I do want to say that, as this new year starts, I am hoping to be more diligent with all of my hobbies or crafts. I enjoy them all, but I am also easily intimidated by them. I want to learn more and expand on each of them. But, I hold myself back because, I guess I think I can’t? Who knows.
I wish there was a way to take viola or cello lessons that are not designed to turn me into a performer. I just want to learn how to do it in simple terms and have the basics taught to me. Let me figure out the rest. I wish there was an instructor who would spend time in just teaching me how to bow, how to find the proper set up for the violin and viola, how to hold the viola and cello properly, how to get proper intonation in 1st position (I can figure out shifting from there is I can get back to the proper 1st position), teach me vibrato and trills and finally how to figure out the rhythm to a piece that has a lot of those pesky short black notes. I just need a good base to learn from. Then I can set up lessons as needed when I get stumped.
I wish I could find someone who could teach me how to use my knitting machine. It is intimidating me. I want to make some sweaters, but I go into the room and get intimidated.
I wish I had someone I could make greeting cards with and share ideas with and learn new techniques from, and share what I have learned.
Gosh, I think I am wishing for too much. I need to shorten my list! What to do, what to do.
