I'm watching this viola masterclass at the moment, at least parts of it.

Two great teachers there, Tabea Zimmermann and Kim Kashkashian. There are several students and pieces of music, I don't know all of them so I'm watching the ones I'm familiar with (aurally). The pieces in there :

  1. Bach prelude from 1st suite
  2. Schubert Arpeggione sonata, 1st mov
  3. Bartok concerto, 1st mov (which I'd never heard - and frankly I don't like it but that's personal)
  4. Mozart's Concertante symphony for violin and viola, 1st mov
  5. Brahms F minor sonata
  6. Stamitz viola concerto, 1st mov

It's inspirational… Only dreaming of reaching such a level someday --> got to practice !

This is well worth taking your time on. I will be watching this in segments and moving on slowly. Thanks, WTW.

Yes, I'm watching in segments too – preferably with my viola close at hand, although I can't quite manage what they say… can always try!

@Violaman Trying gets you to the point of being able to do, right? Unlike the being "trying" that I can relate to. LOL
