I am focusing on my intonation primarily but also working on a few other things. I was watching VM's video on vibrato and I noticed my fingers land on the strings pretty flat to begin with so I'll never get a vibrato in. When I try to droop them straight down at a 90degree it feels like I am holding the whole viola off my neck. I will search for more clips and videos on hand position but anyone with any tips or advice? Thanks.

Would angling them somewhere between flat and 90° be possible and help? I have not tried vibrato on my viola yet. I am just picturing what you said.
