OK, I have been over a year now and still going strong with my dedication to improving my skills. I have a Klaus Mueller Prelude Viola, model # 106V6. To me when I listen it sounds sort of nasally, like the viola has a cold. Is it the instrument or is it me? I assume this is a student or beginner viola as online prices have it listed at only $150.00 +/-. Would an upgrade help me or should I continue with what I have and wait for the next step?

Sounds to me like it's the instrument. I've known players to make all kinds of strange noises on their instruments but the nasally sound quality comes from a nasal sounding instrument.
In any case, any instrument you get from us can be returned if you are not satisfied. :)
