Nearing the end of the summer hols…
I'm battling with a slow song these days, that I'd like to make progress on; even if I'm far from playing it well, it's good as an exercise:
- it has plenty of long, sustained notes –almost nothing else in fact– some needing more than one bow,
- which are supposed to be played with dynamics (inside the longer notes too: from piano to forte or the reverse),
- and vibrato –to achieve the right effect, I think varying width and speed would be needed, I'm going to struggle there!
