I've been fooling around with this and thought it might be worth posting, especially since pirates and drunken sailors are already represented.
The original as I have it was arranged in G for the violin. I've got two viola transcriptions/transpositions here. I put the first one in F, starting on the D string; it gives me the giggles by going all the way down to the low C. Play it at a fast enough clip on the right viola--which admittedly I can't quite do yet with any kind of clarity--and it sounds kinda like someone is doing something rather physically improbable on a cello .
The other version is in C, which I chose because it uses essentially the same fingering as the violin.
Now all I have to do is figure out how to attach 'em. Hopefully it's doable from a Mac.
(Edited to add: Nope. Ain't gonna happen without changing some settings somewhere.)
I've added both to the Sheet Music Section. Thanks!
