After countless hours of work and troubleshooting I finally got Violaman.com back online.
No exact idea of what was causing the whitescreen
After completely reinstalling WordPress, doing a complete restore, turning off all plug-ins the site was still not working. The hosts experts did everything they could and gave up after the first day. I continued to experiment and got it to work by changing themes. When a change of theme solved the problem I simply reinstalled the old theme, activated it then activated every plug-in one by one and redid all settings.
So far so good, and changed the admin password to a much more secure one. Let's hope it never happens again.

The only word for that fix is "inspired." No wonder the techs didn't think of it.

Changing your password implies you think there's still a chance you were hacked. You might want to do the same on all your other sites, as well.

Looks like we were down again for a few hours, yesterday.
I don't see any ill-effects, though. I'm not sure if this was just "leftovers" from the original issue, something new, or just some maintenance that Violaman was doing to the site.
So, er ... carry on.
