I was about to ask "what time is the drawing," but then decided to actually click on the "Read More" link above and got the answer:

CVA-400 give-away is now set for 1PM EST Sunday, January 8, 2012

That makes it Noon for me here in the Central Time Zone.

I think youre making this too easy. On the violin site we had to work to get into the drawings, no one has hardly entered and no one has had to work for this. I say we post pone the give away and make participation in the redwing project part of the requirements. Im sure all the loyal members that have worked hard to grow both of your sites would agree.

Maybe combine the next violin give away with this one for  those that meet requirements.....maybe its just me

I do agree that this drawing is "easy," but I think with a fledgling site such as this it's probably necessary.

I wasn't around for the first drawings at Fiddlerman.com, but I don't think they required anything other than a minimum requisite number of posts to qualify. Now that Fiddlerman.com is a mature and well-established site, increasing the difficulty of eligibility makes sense. He already has hundreds of daily visitors and a good placement on search engines. My understanding is that the drawings are intended to generate buzz and excitement for each of these sites, so until we get Violaman.com up to the level of Fiddlerman, keeping things "light" will probably be necessary.

Even on the violin drawing that gave an entry for participation in the Christmas Project, it was still not a requirement. It just earned an extra entry for those who already had the requisite number of posts, or gave an entry to those who participated, but were still new.

Besides, requiring participation would automatically exclude those folks who have been visiting, but don't yet have an instrument of their very own to play.

Just my two cents on this.

Full disclosure and disclaimer: I'm also eligible to win this giveaway, so I can't guarantee a 100% unbiased opinion one way or the other on this, no matter how hard I try. Everybody likes to win. Fortunately for everyone else, I also have no influence over the what/when/why/how of Violaman's rules or drawings and will be as excited or disappointed as everyone else when the time comes.

Truth is that I would love to see one of you guys win. I realize that there are too few people and it is probably my fault for not advertising it properly. I'll have to do better on the next one for sure. On the bright side, with only 5 or 6 eligible, you guys have a 20% chance of winning.

Nice to see the sudden involvement. Hope it continues even after the drawing. :-) It would be nice to see a full blown, popular exclusive Viola forum.

Best of luck to all, & congratulations in advance to the lucky winner!

I'm going to medicate and go lay back down in the hopes of shaking this headache and regaining clear sight in my left eye.
