Do any of you use a loop pedal or digital recorder to practice against? I play an electric viola, so it's a fairly simple thing to plug in and record a bit into my Boss looper then play against it. I also have a real basic recorder on my Kindle that lets me do the same thing with acoustic instruments.

What I'm wondering, though, is what would be the best things to practice to get the most benefit?

I've played around with a looper a few times. Personally I like to lay an accompaniment and jam to that afterwards.
