I still have not found a comfortable rest. The Kun is too short, the Bon Musica is too tall... I need height over the chest, not under the chin. Any suggestions?

How about a bridge? What do you have and what do you like?

Thanks.

Still using the Kun. Not perfect but feels a lot better. Sometimes I use a small piece of sponge under the chest side which helps. I'm still trying to figure out what feels better as far as holding the viola, angle that is 30, 45 or 90 degrees off my chin. Each has its own advantage and disadvantage.

With violas it's usually more acceptable to let the instrument lean downwards a bit. Maybe between 45º and 90º. I don't know if I would let it go down more than that because of bowing.

I am bumping this up.

@Violaman When you say, "With violas it's usually more acceptable to let the instrument lean downwards a bit.", are you talking lean down vertically from chinrest end to tailpiece end, or horizontally from c string to A string?
